No. Phoenix Buildings rent to own has no credit check, and asking about it does not affect your credit score. What you put down to get a building ordered and delivered is simply the first monthly payment, nothing more.

One monthly payment. That is the entire down payment on a Phoenix Buildings rent to own agreement. You pay the first month, we order the building and deliver it, and the payments carry on from there. There is no deposit stacked on top and no credit check.

Yes. Phoenix Buildings rent to own includes 90 days same as cash. Pay the balance in full within 90 days and you pay the cash price with none of the rent to own cost on top. One thing worth knowing up front: those 90 days run from the day you sign, not from the day the building lands in your yard.

Yes. Rent to own is a path to owning the building, not a rental you walk away from with nothing. Once the final payment on the agreement is made, the building is yours.

Phoenix Buildings offers 24, 36, 48, 60 and 72 month terms. The longer the term, the lower the monthly payment. The 72 month term is available on buildings priced at $9,000 and up before tax. You can work out the exact payment for any price on our rent to own page.

Call the rent to own company as soon as you know, rather than letting it slide. They service the payments, not Phoenix, and they would far rather work something out with you than not hear from you at all.

If too many payments are missed the agreement can go into default, and at that point the building is scheduled for pick up. That is what everyone is trying to avoid, which is why the phone call matters.

The ten year Craftsman warranty covers craftsmanship defects, meaning problems that come down to how the building was put together.

It does not cover normal wear and tear. A building that has been out in the weather for years will show its age, and that is not a defect.

Typically a permit is needed once a building is 200 square feet or larger, but this varies by local jurisdiction and the rule where you live may be different. A homeowners association can have rules of its own on top of that.

Getting any permit is the customer's responsibility, not ours, so check with your county or city planning office before delivery day.

No. A Phoenix building does not need a slab or a poured foundation. It gets set and leveled on blocks on the ground you already have.

A slab does help with one thing. Over the years a blocked building can settle a little. If that happens you can put it right yourself with a jack and a few shims, which is a straightforward job and not a reason to pour concrete if you would rather not.

Yes. The limit is height rather than angle. The high end of the building cannot sit more than 3 feet off the ground, because the mule machine that sets it only lifts about that far to get blocks underneath.

If your spot needs more than 3 feet, call the lot and coordinate it with the delivery crew before the day rather than finding out when the truck is already in your driveway.

A gate or entrance needs to be about 2 feet wider than the building you ordered, so the driver has room to maneuver rather than threading a needle.

The entry also needs to be level. Coming through on a slope, the building can lean and catch a gate post or whatever else is alongside the opening. If you are not sure, measure the gap and call the lot before delivery day. Also mark any septic tanks, sprinkler heads or other obstructions along the route in.

Delivery and setup are free if you are within fifty miles of an authorized Phoenix retailer, and there is usually more than one way to make that work.

If you want a building that is already built and sitting on a lot, the fifty miles is measured from that lot. Your dealer can often coordinate with another authorized Phoenix dealer closer to you to keep the delivery free.

If you are ordering custom, or you do not mind waiting a couple of weeks while a new one is built, we can deliver free straight from the plant.

Past fifty miles you pay only for the extra distance, priced by the size of the building: $5 a mile for 8 to 12 foot wide, $7 a mile for 14 foot wide, and $10 a mile for 16 foot wide.

Yes. These are portable buildings and they can be moved. Empty it out first, it moves far better with nothing in it.

If you are still paying rent to own, call the rent to own company before anything happens, get their permission and give them the new address. The building is their property until it is paid off.

Moving is not a service Phoenix provides, but we know people who do it and we are happy to point you at them.

Phoenix Buildings builds from 8x8 up to 16x60. That covers storage sheds, lofted barns, garages, cabin shells and dog kennels. If you need a size or a layout we do not have in stock, we build it to order at our own plant.

Yes, and you are welcome to. Phoenix Buildings has over twenty authorized locations across South Carolina and Georgia with buildings on the ground, so you can open the doors and look at the framing before you commit to anything.

Plenty of people buy without ever visiting a lot, working it out by text, photos and video calls. Both work. Do whichever you are comfortable with.

Every Phoenix building is framed and finished at our own plant in Wrens, Georgia, then delivered across South Carolina and Georgia. Building them ourselves is why we can put a ten year Craftsman warranty on them, and why a custom order does not take forever.
